WAIT ON THE LORD

Waiting on anything is difficult to do, it means we have to have that word, you know the one it starts with P and is so hard..... because when we want something we want it now. We don't want to have patience and wait on anyone including the Lord.

Psalm 27:14 is what I want to talk about today

"Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!"

I know you don't see the word patience here but we see the word wait and it has a very similar meaning and to wait for the Lord means we are looking for to Him with joyful expectation and with peace concerning the days to come, and becasue our hope is in Him, we can discover courage! The Lord is faithful, and all who put their trust in Him can find strength and encouragement to endure. Read that again. To wait for the Lord means we are looking for to Him with joyful expectation and with peace concerning the days to come, and becasue our hope is in Him, we can discover courage. The Lord is faithful, and all who put their trust in Him can find strength and encouragement to endure. There is a lot in there to digest and discover.

We need to remember God's timetable may differ from ours, we tend to want an immediate answer to our pryaers, but the Lord is never in a rush. He may not answer us immediately, but He has promised to answer, "in time of need" (Hebrews 4:16). Waiting on the Lord draws us close to Him and teaches us to be patient.

REFLECTION: Are you being impatient with God? What can you do to draw closer to God while you wait on his timing?

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, we know that your watchful eyes are ever on us, and that your power and mercy along with your saving grace are ever in favor of the upright who fearlessly wait for you, give us the courage to wait for your timing. Allow us to let go of what is holding us back from finding joy in waiting on your timing and show us your will each day we pray. In Jesus name. Amen.

WHAT CAN I LEARN FROM PSALM 27? The Lord is my light and my salvation.” David saw that God was the Light of the path that led to salvation. We cannot know God's light until we know darkness without Him. We can only know His strength if we know our weakness.
