Stretch your Faith

I am really bad about taking the time I need to exercise my body and when we fail to stretch, our muscles begin to lose their ability to expand and contract therefore reducing our body's range of motion. It's not just our bodies we need to stretch to stay healthy, our faith also, needs stretched so atrophy doesn't set in. As you go forward, I challenge you to look forward with God-Inspired faith. Believe God for a better future, broader horizons and great victories. Ask God to stretch your thinking, knowing he can do more than we can imagine. When we hear the phrase "follow hard after God," we often zero in on the "hard" part and think, If I just try harder, if I do more ministry, if I read my Bible more and spend more time in prayer, God will be pleased with me. We are forever getting tripped up by the false notion that we have to earn God's love and grace and forgiveness. In reality, it is our total reliance upon God that frees us from our clubfooted struggle along the rocky path of life. When we free-fall into His arms--and His grace--placing all our dependence on Him, our clunky feet are transformed into graceful feet that can run along behind the Shepherd wherever He may take us.
