Rest for your Soul

Good Morning, I was reading my devotional this morning before getting ready for worship and I have been struggling with some health issues and that is causing me to be anxious and not have peace. Even though I know God's got this, it is hard to not stress and worry. I am one who struggles with asking for Prayers for myself and lately a lot of where God has been leading me in my studies and devotions has been talking about praying together, and asking trusted Christians to pray for you, so I am working on that because I want to be obedient and do the things God tells me to do. Well, that brings me to today's devotional Matthew 11:28 "Come to me, all who are weary and heavily burdened and I will give you rest."

Most of the time when we see the word rest we think of sleep, but that isn't the rest this means, this is more than just physical rest, it is a spirtual, mental and emotional rest. Jesus says if we come to Him, He will give us rest for our souls. And the apostle Paul teaches us that we can enter the rest of God if we trust and confidently rely on God (Hebrews 4:3). If we will receive it, God will give us peace and rest from any fears and frustrations, thoughts of doubt and insecurities. All we have to do is cast our cares on God and trust Him. The moment we do, then and only then can we rest from the weariness of our own works.

I am so very thankful that we have such a loving Father that will take our cares on his shoulders and walk with us through them and give us the strength to stand in faith. Hebrews 11:1 tells us "Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see" God I just want to say thank you for always being there when I need you and showing up right on time with the perfect message.

Love your Child!
