PRAYER CHANGES THINGS

One of mine devotinals talked about this yesterday and I can't get it off of my heart so I want to share it with you today. Colossians 4:2-3 tells us. "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.

Have you ever grown tired of praying for someone or something? Paul says we should devote ourselves to paryer and be watchful in prayer. Our persistence in prayer expresses our faith that God answers prayer. Faith shouldn't fade if answers come slowly, for the delay may be God's way of working out his will in our lives. When you feel tired of praying remember God sees you, knows what you need, always listens, and wants to do a great work through you. He will always answer, maybe not in ways you expect, but in ways he knows are best.

"We know the book of Psalms is a huge prayer book in the center of the Bible, to many of us, however, prayer is like a long distance call on a Sunday: It is cheaper then, and therefore we only do it on Sundays. But prayer is actually a free call, a direct line to God, open every minute of the day."

"We too are called to make a change. To pray for others is something we can do to change a situation. But we should also get meaningfully and practically involved. Prayer not only changes situations, it changes us!"
