Life is full of uncertainity

A little guy I read about reminded me that life is full of uncertainities. One day, shortly after the sudden passing of his beloved grandfather, this little fellow, not much past three, gazed out the window of his grandmother's car. They were headed to her house-- the same house that had always belonged to her and grandpa. Grandma, he said softly, his eyes never leaving the window, "I've been thinking about Grandpa." Oh...and what were you thinking?" "Momma said he died and now he lives in heaven with Jesus." "That's right, sweetheart. Grandpa is in heaven with Jesus." The little guy turned away from the window, and said, "It's too bad we couldn't all go together." Grandma couldn't say anything, as she was fighting back the tears. There was a long pause and then Jordan finished with, "But then we couldn't come back." I'm not ashamed to say that that story brings a tear to my eye. And a valuable lesson to my mind: God longs to have a place in eternity for each one of us, but it's up to us to make sure that we follow the path. Jesus came to the world as a perfect sacrifice for the human race. He served as our window of escape from a deserved and total punishment. Death will reach me, and you, and everyone. We need to stop and think about our destination, because to paraphrase a wise youngster: "We can't come back."
