Jesus Loves His Children

This past Sunday was "Bless the children" day at church. Our whole church family is a blessing, but seeing the little ones excited for the Lord brings joy to my heart and a peace to my soul that I can't explain. They are so eager and joyful with what they are learning each week. They "run" up to the altar for Pastor to teach them their lesson for the day and then run down to "JAM City" (Jesus and Me).

Do you still have that eagerness? Are you excited to learn more about Jesus? Do you "run" (as much as we can LOL) to your next lesson?

When presented with a gift they do not deserve, children will generally accept it gratefully and unselfconsciously. They have no thoughts on if they have earned it and they don't feel guilty about receiving it. They just enjoy it. This is how God wants us to be with the blessings he bestows upon us.

Our status in His kingdom is not dependent on how much we do. It's on how we love Him and how we know we can come to Him as the still-flawed children of God, with humility, boldness, and relief that He knows us and loves us anyway. It is then that the Holy Spirit can do the work in us that brings us a bit closer to holy (Philippians 2:13)
