I CAN'T BUT JESUS CAN!!

ISAIAH 40:29

He gives strength to the weary and increases power to the weak.

"One more thing and I feel like I am going to break," whispers a worried woman who desperately wants to keep her job but suffers daily under backstabbing co-workers and an uncaring boss.

"I just want to go home," cries the exhausted college student who struggles balancing classes, social pressures, a job and being away from home for the first time.

"My baby hates me," cries the first time new mom who hasn't slept in days and is trying to figure out baby care on their own.

Any of these sound familiar? A desperate longing for help and strength, a genunine need for energy and courage in the most challenging of circumstances. At one time or another most of us have been their, in dire need, feeling overwhelmed by our challenges at the point of giving up.

No matter who gives voice to their burden of helplessness there is One who offers promises to help and who will always be by our side. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Psalm 29:11 tells us the Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.

Even the strongest people get tired at times, but God's power and strength never diminish. He is never too tired or busy to help and listen. His strength is our source of strength. When you feel like life is crushing you and you cannot go another step, remember you can call upon God to renew your strength.

REFLECTION:

When did I last feel my life spinning out of control? Did I call upon the Lord for strength? How did I feel before calling on the Lord? How did I feel after?

PRAYER:

Father, life is hard help me to remember when times get tough to reach out to you first your strength and courage are what I need to get through my time on this earth. I need you by my side always to keep me going, if there is something I need to be doing to strengthen our relationship please show me what it is so I can draw closer to you. In Jesus name I pray Amen.

ACTION:

Pick a block of time that is your God time, let your family and friends know that you have this dedicated God time and that it is non-negotiable. Then use it, to pray, study, read your devotionals, talk to God, write in your God journal, in quiet mediation, whatever you need to do that day to bring you closer to God.
