Mark 5: 35-36
While Jesus was still speaking some people came from the house of Jarius the synagogue leader " Your daughter is dead" they said, "why bother the teacher anymore" Overhearing what they said Jesus told him "Don't be afraid just believe"
Jarius's crisis made him feel confused, afraid and without hope. Jesus words during this crisis speak to us well. "Don't be afraid just believe" in Jesus we find both hope and promise.
Can you think of a situation where you felt totally hopeless and afraid? Did you rely your own self or Jesus first? There are several verses in the Bible that tell us what we are to do in this type of situation.
1 Peter 5:7
Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you
Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding
Phillippians 4:19
And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus
The next time you feel hopeless and afraid look at your problem from Jesus point of view. Then don't be afraid just have faith as you trust in and rely on him. You will find you are happier and have more peace about your situation when you are being obedient and following God's instructions.
